After a procedural vote in the U.S. Senate, the end date of the shutdown remains uncertain
BlockBeats News, November 10th, According to the U.S. traditional political media The Hill report, despite the U.S. Senate having passed a procedural vote on the "government shutdown ending deal," there are still more steps to be taken before the government can reopen. Any senator could delay the deal's deliberation for several days, Furthermore, the House of Representatives must reconvene and pass the agreement reached by the Senate before it can be sent to President Donald Trump for signing.
According to relevant information, after the procedural vote is passed, the Senate must modify three appropriations bills (Legislative, Military Construction, and Agriculture, including the SNAP program) and then send them back to the House of Representatives. Each modification will trigger a 30-hour debate period, which could delay the process.
If the Democrats choose to prolong these debates, the government may not reopen until Wednesday or Thursday, but if they move quickly, the "government shutdown ending" process could be completed tonight, and the U.S. government could reopen tomorrow night. The current obstructive procedural rules may significantly impact the timeline.
