Trump Plans to Launch 'Genesis Mission' Initiative, Considers AI Race as Important as Space Race
BlockBeats News, November 20th: A U.S. Department of Energy official revealed that U.S. President Trump plans to introduce a plan called the "Genesis Mission" in an executive order to be signed next week. The goal of this plan is to advance the U.S.'s development in the field of artificial intelligence. Carl Kukkonen, Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Energy, stated that this action aims to demonstrate that the Trump administration considers the upcoming AI competition as important as the "Manhattan Project" or the space race. Kukkonen indicated that this executive order may require U.S. national laboratories to conduct more research on emerging AI technologies and may involve public-private partnerships. (Golden Finance)
Earlier today, it was reported that U.S. President Trump is also considering signing an executive order as early as Friday to grant the federal government unilateral authority to regulate artificial intelligence, including establishing an "Artificial Intelligence Litigation Special Task Force" overseen by the Attorney General, whose sole responsibility is to challenge state AI laws.
